Canon is due out release the Canon EOS 50D Digital SLR camera in October 2008. This marks the next generation of Canon’s amateur-professional grade camera. I have owned a Canon 20D with a 8 mega pixel sensor, the Canon 50D will have a 15 mega pixel sensor and the latest generation of Canon CMOS sensor. Another new feature is the ability to view an image live via the LCD sreen prior to taking the photograph.

I must admit, I am tempted to upgrade my 20D to the 50D model. The suggested retail price of just the body of the 50D is $1,399.00. Canon is still keeping the amateur-professional camera price below $1,500, which given all the new ehancements to the 50D, is quite impressive. I will probably upgrade in 2009 to the 50D and I look forward to taking advantage of all the new ehancements on the 50D.
