As a photographer, I am use to lugging out a bulky digital SLR camera when ever I want to photograph something. This works great when you are on the ground, but when in the air, piloting an airplane or trying to travel light, a digital SLR and associated lens just doesn’t quite cut it. You will want to opt for a small digital camera that can fit in to your pocket or flight bag with ease. The Canon PowerShot A470 fits that bill with ease.
The Canon PowerShot A470 is now part of my flight bag so that when photos of opportunity present themselves, I can easily take them, whether in the air or on the ground at an airport. While not as capable as a digital SLR camera, in the right hands, you can still get some amazing shots.
Images are stored on a SD Flash Memory card, which are relatively cheap to purchase. You can even record video use the camera onto the SD Flash Memory card. When you get home, all you have to as take out the xx card and put it in to your computers card reader. Transferring images and video files are easy to transfer from the card to your computer both in Microsoft XP, Vista and Apple OS X operating systems.
The Canon PowerShot A470 uses two AA batteries, which means you never have to worry about charging up batteries like you do with the Canon digital SLR series. If the batteries go dead, you are more than likely going to be able to find a place to purchase new AA batteries.
